The Florida State University Department of Art History is hosting the 39th Annual Art History Graduate Student Symposium. Graduate students from around the country will present papers on the history of art, architecture, and cultural heritage studies in three sessions on Friday afternoon, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, with each paper followed by critical discussion.

The keynote speaker this year is Heather Igloliorte, Associate Professor of Indigenous Art History and University Research Chair of Circumpolar Indigenous Art, Concordia University, Montreal.

The Graduate Student Symposium has been hosted annually by the FSU Art History graduate students and faculty since 1981. Since 2020, the event has been organized by the Graduate Student Symposium Committee, a rotating elected group of Art History MA and PhD students, three of whom serve as session chairs.

Papers presented at the Symposium are considered for publication in Athanor, an internationally distributed periodical edited by a doctoral student on the Symposium Committee and published by FSU Libraries.

The symposium program is available at the link below.
